Boston Medical Center’s Community Behavioral Health Center (BMC CBHC) is a one-stop shop for crisis, urgent, and routine mental health and substance use care. They offer 24/7 community-based crisis evaluations, urgent visits, routine and follow-up appointments. They serve all ages – youth, adults, and families in Boston and surrounding areas. They have staff that speak multiple languages and access to BMC interpreter services, including ASL.
Programs and Services:
24/7 Call Center: staffed by professionally trained clinicians who triage calls, provide support, and make appropriate referrals via phone, in-person evaluations, and telehealth. To initiate services, call the toll-free 24/7 crisis line: 1-800-981-HELP (4357).
BEST Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI) Team: a 24-hour response to youth and adults in need of crisis intervention for mental health and substance use concerns in community settings. They accept all insurances, including uninsured/no insurance. You can come to their urgent care center or their team of trained professionals can come to you.
CBHC Clinic (formerly the Bridge Clinic): the front door for same-day urgent visits for mental health or substance use concerns. Walk-ins accepted. They accept MassHealth insurance (excluding MassHealth Limited).
Adult Community Crisis Stabilization (CCS) Unit: a staff-secured and safe treatment program that provides short-term crisis intervention for adults (18+) with mental health needs and co-occurring disorders over a 5-day stay.
Samaritans Statewide Helpline

The Samaritans Statewide Helpline is available to anyone in Massachusetts who is need of emotional support. Anyone can call or text the helpline to receive help from specially trained volunteers.
Massachusetts high school and college students can also get online support through the IMHear_ program. For high school students, volunteers ages 15-18 are available Monday-Thursday from 6-9PM. For college students, IMHear_ is available Monday-Friday from 5-9PM.
SafeLink

SafeLink is for anyone who is being affected by domestic violence or dating violence. Volunteers at SafeLink speak English and Spanish, and SafeLink also has a service that can provide translation in more than 130 languages.

The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center has a 24/7 hotline for survivors of sexual violence ages 12 or older. The hotline is also available to survivors' friends and families, as well as other professionals.

The Network/La Red

The Network/La Red hotline provides support, information, and safety planning to anyone in the LBGTQ community who are being abused, or have been abused, by a partner. The hotline is also open to friends and family, as well as others who work on domestic violence issues in the LGBTQ community. The hotline is available 24/7.

New Hope, Inc. has a 24/7 hotline available to anyone who is a survivor of domestic violence or sexual violence. New Hope primarily serves Central and Southeastern Massachusetts.

LGBTQI+ people under 25 can access affirming support via the 988 Lifeline by calling 988 and pressing #3. People can also text the word “PRIDE” to 988 or check off the LGBTQI+ box in the pre-chat survey to be connected to a counselor to receive needed support.

They also offer 988 ASL Videophone for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
National Runaway Safeline

The National Runaway Safeline helps youth who have run away, are thinking about running away, or who already ran away but are ready to come home. Parents and guardians can also contact the hotline if they are worried about their child running away or if their child has already left home.
The hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Youth, parents, and guardians can also use the online chat feature on the Runaway Safeline's website to ask for help and get support, or can send a text to 66008.
